CCCCD Students Are Ready for “Just Desserts”

           Collin County Community College District Foundation, Inc. hosted “Just Desserts,” their 2003-2004 scholarship recognition event Aug. 14 at the Plano Centre, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. With more than 170 scholarships being presented, this was the largest number of scholarships awarded in the history of both the college and the foundation.  Two new categories of scholarships were developed this year: the Board of Trustees and Community Appreciation Scholarships.  This celebration is a great opportunity for donors and recipients to meet and learn more about each other.

              CCCCD president Cary A. Israel was joined by Sam Roach, chair of the CCCCD Board of Trustees, Cynthia Bauge, CCCCD Board of Trustees, Robert Keahey, chair of the CCCCD Foundation Board and Paula Roman, executive director of the Foundation.  Others participating in awarding scholarships included Barbara Money, dean of students, Kathrine Swanson, associate dean of students and Foundation directors Sue Olivier, David Hammel and Steve Matthews.  Musical entertainment was provided by CCCCD’s Jaztet One, Vanessa Testoni, James Wilder and Leslie Wegner.
