For 24 years Jean and Mike Newman have been capturing and showcasing Plano in all its growth and glory. Their magazine, Plano Profile, the flagship publication of Wishbone Graphics Inc., has chronicled the life of the community during a pivotal period in its history, while providing an invaluable communication tool for its entire population. Education, health care, arts and culture, business and economic development, sports, social scenes, volunteerism - in essence, the inimitable Plano lifestyle - it has all been covered in the Profile.
Over the years the Newmans have provided hundreds of pages of complimentary advertising and countless sponsorships to help promote and support nonprofit community organizations and charities. Among the beneficiaries of their contributions have been the Junior League of Plano, Leadership Plano, the Komen Foundation, the Plano Symphony Orchestra, the Plano Art Association, the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, SciTech Discovery Center and Collin County Community College District's arts and theater department, to name just a few. For more than fourteen years, Plano Profile has also contributed to the success of the Taste of Plano, which provides college scholarships for Plano ISD students.
Mrs. Newman, an accomplished artist and businesswoman, is a respected advocate and avid volunteer for education, women and the arts.
Her board service has included the Plano Chamber of Commerce, the Plano Economic Development Board, Community Credit Union (ViewPoint Bank), the Junior League of Plano, Collin College Foundation and the Plano Symphony Orchestra. She serves on the Arts of Collin County Honorary Advisory Council and its Bravo Campaign Cabinet. | |

In addition, the Volunteer Center of North Texas recognized her with its André Davidson Spirit of Volunteerism Award.
Mr. Newman, an award-winning photographer, also has received recognition for his support of the arts and the Plano community, including the Plano Rotary’s prestigious Larry Jackson “Service Above Self” Award. He also has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International.
The Newmans are frequently called on to chair local events. This year they are serving as the honorary co-chairs for the ArtCentre of Plano’s Haute Arte show and fundraiser.
By virtue of their service, creativity and love of their community, Jean and Mike Newman are the profile of Plano.
